A new standalone manga Jujutsu Kaisen focused on Yuta Okkotsu will be released to coincide with the Japanese premiere of Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
Yuta Okkotsu will be in the spotlight again in a new Jujutsu kaisen one-shot manga.
As reported by Weekly Shonen Jump News – Unofficial, series creator Gege Akutami has crafted a new standalone story focused on Yuta Okkotsu, the sword-wielding Curse user who is also the protagonist of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 manga and prequel movie. The new one-shot chapter will be released in Weekly Shonen Jump, and it would also be included in a special booklet distributed to Japanese theatergoers who see the new prequel film. The booklet will also include commentary from Akutami and the film staff.
This one-shot is part of Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 0.5, a freebie that people can get by watching Jujutsu Kaisen Movie 0.

Yuta was the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, a manga created by Akutami and originally published under the title “Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical SchoolBefore Yuji Itadori is introduced to the world of curses and wizards, the story instead centers on Yuta, a young man haunted by the spirit of his late childhood sweetheart, Rika. The short miniseries was released about a year before the main one Jujutsu kaisen The manga series made its debut and featured many characters, such as Satoru Gojo and villainous Suguru Geto, who would also appear in Akutami’s later series. After JJK turned out to be a success, the prequel story was retroactively renamed to reflect its position in the series’ timeline.
The film adaptation of the prequel will be released in Japan on December 24. The film will be directed by Sunghoo Park, who directed the first season of the animated adaptation of the series. Park recently revealed that he originally wanted to start the animated series with Yuta’s origins, but ultimately decided that it would be best to start with Yuji’s story. Details on the film’s international release have yet to be announced.
Jujutsu kaisen is Weekly Shonen Jumpthe last smash hit. The series premiered in 2018 and recently announced that it would have 60 million copies in circulation by the end of the year, already surpassing the number of sales of older series such as Inuyasha, Haikyuu !! and My hero university. Despite a two-month hiatus over the summer, the series was also Japan’s best-selling manga series of the year, with over 30 million units in the region.
