Best of RIFF Shorts Fest on Sunday, August 21 starting at 2 p.m. at the Ridgefield Playhouse

RIFF’s mission is to make the world more compassionate by sharing stories through film.

We continue this mission in our 7th year with the BEST OF RIFF SHORTS FEST – Are the kids okay? Raising Resilient Children in Film.

Funded by a grant from CT Humanities and presented with support from The Ridgefield Playhouse, Ridgefield Thrift Shop and WSHU Public Radio, this 103-minute screening features 9 short films celebrating youth culture and 7 years of Ridgefield Independent Film Festival.

Following the screenings, there will be a panel discussion moderated by Lisa Cambridge-Mitchell, featuring numerous filmmakers as well as film critic, Joe Meyers, on the history and language of youth in film, and a presentation by our Emerging Filmmaker Award to Ridgefield resident Nicholas Burns. for his film “Nothing is going to change”. A reception will be held immediately afterwards in the Playhouse lobby with gourmet hot dogs from Chez Lenard and beer provided by Nod Hill Brewery.
