Locally produced film featuring Missoula seeking local talent

MISSOULA – A locally produced film about Missoula’s post-apocalypse evolution is looking for local talent – and it could be you!

Producers are currently looking for actors for speaking, background and backup roles in a 99 Productions and Treasure State Studios film “Kitchen Of The Pocalypse.” It’s a story about New Missoula, ten years after the end of the world as we know it.

Sounds pretty heavy: but it’s a comedy where one man’s culinary dreams just might save the world. It took years to get to this stage of the film’s production, but writer and director Kyle Weingart told MTN News that they have something special for the big screen.

“We’ve been working on the idea for about five years. It’s changed so much. It started as a teenage short – it actually started as a newscast in the beginning. But the actors, we worked on it for five years,” Weingart explained.

“We’ve filmed several different versions of it and this is finally it. We’ve got an investor and the whole community behind us. We’re shooting in Hamilton, but the whole community is, ‘Oh, you’re making a movie and you’re not aren’t you one of those big guys?’ “Well, let me help you. So we’re getting a lot of support from the community, so that’s really cool,” he concluded.
