NEWTOWN >> The Newtown Theater presents its next Independent Film Night on Wednesday, June 1 at 7 p.m. The first evening of March drew nearly 200 people.
The evening of June 1 will feature a variety of short films by local filmmakers. In most cases, the directors will give a brief introduction and answer questions. Admission is free but donations will be accepted. Some content may be inappropriate for children.
Also mark your calendar for Father’s Day.
The non-profit Newtown Theater will be hosting a special Father’s Day screening of âField of Dreamsâ on Sunday June 19 at 4 pm. taking and posing for photos.
Tickets will be available at the box office starting at 3:30 p.m. and will cost $ 10 for adults, $ 8 for students or those aged 60 and over, and $ 7 for children 12 and under.
The special event is sponsored by Isaac Newton’s Bar and Restaurant in Newtown. After the movie, fathers and kids are invited to grab a hamburger and root beer at Isaac Newton’s, where a piece of the âField of Dreamsâ movie is good for $ 5 off $ 20 or more (offer valid only on June 19, excluding alcohol).
