Independent film crew coming to Utica needs actors and houses

If it’s always been your dream to be involved in a movie, then your luck might be here before you know it. An independent film crew comes to shoot her film in Utica and she needs help.

Paul Buckley is with the City of Utica and he is reaching out to the general public on behalf of the film producers who will be visiting the area in May. Filming for the film will begin on July 1 and end on July 20. Buckley says there are some requests from this film crew and he’s looking for help from the audience.

The film crew need three different houses to use as locations for the film for a few days. For several scenes, the film crew will need a lot of background actors or “extras” as they call it in the company. Specifically, they are looking for three young children to play the role of younger versions of the main characters.

The child actors sought are two boys aged 6 to 9. The girl must be between 12 and 14 years old. Anyone interested in participating in any capacity whatsoever in this unique filming experience is invited to send their head photos to Gabriel Kahane at [email protected]. You can also email her if you want your house to be used in production.

Not only will you or your house be able to feature in the film, but you will have the unique experience of seeing firsthand how the film process unfolds from start to finish. Utica and the Mohawk Valley is no stranger to the film productions that run through the city. One of the most notable is the hit thriller “A Quiet Place” set in Little Falls. Not only do we have some of the best natural scenery in the country, we also have the best people. It’s a perfect combination for any film crew to have the best possible experience.
