Filmmakers, architects, doctors, teachers and engineers all in the new batch of IIMA


The one-year full-time batch of Graduate Program in Management for Executives (PGPX 2022-23) was hosted by Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). The batch included 140 candidates from various industries, including manufacturing, IT/ITeS, defense and security, planning and architecture, shipping and logistics, and education; socio-economic backgrounds, professional roles, academic profiles, etc.

The average work experience of professionals in the current batch is over seven years, and nearly 20 students in the batch have international work experience. This batch also had the highest GMAT and GRE scores since 2020.

“This year’s female students come with inspiring personal and professional journeys. From filmmakers to teachers and NGO workers to even a chef, the batch features an array of ambitious and industrious young women who have played different roles – mother, wife , professional — and made it to IIMA,” the statement read.

“It is heartening to see the determination and sincerity of these young leaders. We are happy to be able to maintain the diversity of the batch in terms of gender, academic and professional backgrounds, etc. said Professor Viswanath Pingali, President of PGPX.

“The current batch comes with some very interesting experiences that can add tremendous value to classroom learning and enhance diversity. This diversity is essential to enhance peer-to-peer learning and enrich discussions. “Being interdisciplinary in their thinking process becomes achievable with such a diverse batch,” he added.
