Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal roped up for a western short film


Actor Ethan Hawke has signed on to star in Pedro Almodóvar’s upcoming film, ‘Strange Way of Life’, which is a western (half hour) short. In the film, Hawke stars alongside Chilean star Pedro Pascal.

According to the producer, Agustín Almodóvar, the film will be “another exercise in freedom in the tradition of ‘The Human Voice’.”

Pedro will shoot this film just before making his English debut, “A Manual for Cleaning Women”, with Cate Blanchett.

As reported by Variety, the film will be shot in English. According to reports, the film begins with Silva crossing deserts to visit Sherriff Jake in Bitter Creek. About two decades ago, the men worked together as armed bandits. Silva heads to Bitter Creek for a nice reunion with an old friend, but Jake’s reasons aren’t just reminiscing and he has a secret reason.

According to the directors, the title of the film reflects a famous fado written and sung by Amalia Rodrigues. Speaking of this, producer Agustín Almodóvar said: “In all his cinema, Pedro reinterprets genres, questioning their codes.”

Pedro Almodóvar’s most recent film was Oscar-nominated “Parallel Mothers” starring Penelope Cruz. He directed the short film “The Human Voice” with Tilda Swinton.

Ethan Hawke, meanwhile, was recently seen in ‘The Black Phone’ and Pascal was last seen in ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’ which starred Nicholas Cage in the lead and he will also star in the series. HBO, ‘The Last of Us’.
