David Cronenberg’s film ‘The Shrouds’ will come into contact with the dead


A quick Easter eggs in this year Scream revealed that Cry 4 character Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere) survived his encounter with Ghostface, leaving fans wondering if we’d see the fan-favorite character again in a sequel.

It’s official: Kirby will be back for Cry 6!

THR reports that Panettiere has signed on for the sequel, making her the first legacy character announced so far for the next installment. Panettière joins the previously announced returning players Melissa Barrera (“Sat”) Savoy Brown Jasmine (“Mindy”), Mason Gooding (“Chad”), and Jenna Ortega (“Tara”).

In the brand new movie, “The Scream the saga continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface murders as they leave Woodsboro and begin a new chapter.

Plot details, of course, are still under wraps at this time.

At the controls, Radio Silence Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillette (Scream, ready or not) with James Vanderbilt (Scream, Murder Mystery) & Guy Busick (Scream, ready or not) co-writing the screenplay. Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein and William Sherak of Project X Entertainment are the producers (Scream, Ambulance).

Creator Kevin Williamson and the third member of Radio Silence, Chad Villella, are executive producers alongside Gary Barber and Peter Oiltaguerre of Spyglass, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad and Marianne Maddalena. Fans can look forward to the next Scream will be released in theaters worldwide on March 31, 2023.

After celebrating the franchise’s 25th anniversary, Scream [2022] earned a “Certified Fresh” score from Rotten Tomatoes and has grossed over $140 million at the worldwide box office to date. Directed by Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett and written by Vanderbilt & Busick from characters created by Williamson, the horror film’s cast included: Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid , Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sonia Ammar with Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Neve Campbell.

Scream 2022 is available now on Digital, 4k Ultra HD and Blu-ray and is currently streaming on Paramount+.
