Canon has announced the launch of four new professional camcorders in its XA series, the compact and lightweight XA65 and XA60, and the high image quality XA75 and XA70.
Canon’s professional XA-series camcorders deliver the high image quality and mobility required for on-location videography in areas such as broadcast, news reporting, documentary and event shooting.
The recently announced XA75 and XA70 models inherit the same high performance as their predecessors while adding new support for the UVC or USB Video Class communication protocol that enables video transfer over a USB connection. With this new feature, the cameras are better suited for use in the increasingly popular field of live streaming, low budget filmmaking and content creation.
The XA75 and XA70 feature a 1-inch CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV 6 Image Processor. Featuring a 4K-capable 15x optical zoom with a zoom range of approximately 25.5mm at wide angle to approximately 382.5mm at telephoto, the XA75 and XA70 support high-quality 4K video capture at 30 fps throughout the zoom range.
The large sensor enables video capture with great background blur and bright, high-sensitivity recording with minimal noise in low-light environments. Thanks to Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology, the XA75/XA70 feature smooth autofocus and subject tracking during shooting. Even during 4K shooting, intuitive touchscreen operations allow users to focus quickly and accurately.
The XA65 and XA60, meanwhile, feature a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV 6 Image Processor, as well as 4K-capable 20x optical zoom, all in one package. compact and lightweight that weighs about 750g. .
The camera supports 4K shooting at 30fps throughout the zoom range – from around 29.3mm at the wide end to around 601mm at the telephoto end. Additionally, 4K sensor data can also be used for HD oversampling processing to record Full HD high-resolution video at 60 fps.
These new cameras are the first in Canon’s XA series to be UVC compatible, enabling high image quality streaming with a single Type-C cable. Additionally, the cameras are equipped with a large, bright electrostatic capacitance-type LCD touchscreen, measuring 3.5 inches and 2.76 million pixels, as well as a 0.36-inch, 1.77 million tilted EVF. pixels for better visibility when shooting outdoors. There’s also a digital zoom feature for a greater zoom range and a ‘text overlay’ on-screen display feature that displays information such as date and timecodes overlaid on captured visuals.
The Canon XA70 and XA75 will be available in stores from November 2022 and will cost Rs 2,79,495 and Rs 2,45,495 respectively. On the other hand, Canon XA60 and XA65 will be available in stores from October 2022 and will cost Rs 1,14,995 and Rs 2,06,995 respectively.
