Akshay Kumar’s upcoming is Yash Raj Films’ historic debut, Samrat Prithviraj, which is based on the life and valor of the fearless and powerful king Prithviraj Chauhan. He tries out the role of the legendary warrior who fought valiantly to protect India from the ruthless invader Muhammad of Ghor in this visual spectacle. The film was edited on one of Hindi cinema’s biggest superstars, Akshay Kumar who completed his 30 years in the Hindi film industry with Samrat Prithviraj.

To mark the occasion, five of our country’s greatest filmmakers – Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Aanand L. Rai, R. Balki and Subhash Kapoor talk about the impact a megastar like Akshay Kumar had on Indian cinema.

Karan Johar, who has worked with Akshay in films like Bon Newwz, Sooryavanshi says, “Akshay Kumar is not just a superstar. Akshay Kumar is not just a supreme entertainer and actor. Akshay Kumar is a force; he is a force to be reckoned with. He is almost like an industry d “one man. Over the past decade and more, he has of course proven his strength, in the mainstream, as an extremely viable force and player; but also, his choice of subjects, ranging from versatility to all kinds of genres, subgenres that Akshay has dabbled in; he’s gotten stronger and stronger as an actor and is now a megastar, a superstar but also, like I said, a unique force , an individual industry. His 30th birthday should be celebrated, because truly when talking about Indian cinema, one cannot but mention his huge impact on Indian cinema. And at 30, he is releasing one of his most spectacular films , Samrat Prithviraj. From the first look, you know it will be an absolute bargain. nematographic. It will be a treat for all Akshay Kumar fans but also for all movie buffs. A combination of big stories, history and of course the mega-stardom of Akshay Kumar. I wish him all the best, all the love and always more power for him.

Sajid Nadiadwala, who has worked with Akshay in films like Hi baby and full house franchise said, “This is a great year for Akshay and for the industry as a whole. He has been in the industry for 30 years. Let me tell you, he’s been with me since 4th level. He was my eldest. Then he became part of my class, then he became my junior. We are now in the same brotherhood. And for him to be here, 30 years old, what I personally feel is there’s a Telegu film industry, there’s a Tamil industry, there’s the Hindi industry and there’s something which is called AK industry. He has his own industry. He is very magnanimous with his producers. He is very professional. What I saw in him in 1989, when he joined this industry, to this day there has never been a single incomplete movie of him. I think he needs huge applause for the work he has done in this industry and I wish him the best of luck for any future films he does. I therefore take this opportunity to wish my friend 30 happy years and many more to come and certainly for his remarkable film, Samrat Prithviraj. Lots of love, lots of hugs, I love you Akshay.

Aanand L. Rai, who has worked with Akshay in films like Arangi Re, said: “Who could have imagined! An actor who got a tag from ‘Khiladi’ Kumar, becoming a bigger and bigger star with every movie, will make a movie like Ek-Prem Katha toilet; will make a movie like Padman and now, Samrat Prithviraj. He’s shown such a versatile range and with that, he’s a pure combination of discipline and grit. The best part of Akshay Sir is, I think, the emotional side. He fully lives each relationship. I think that’s very important for an actor.

R. Balki, who worked with Akshay in films like Padman and Mission Mangal, says: “Akshay is a genre in its own right. He is the only one to practice cinema as a sport. In fact, he acts in the cinema. Like a sport of modern times, it requires talent of course, requires physical condition, requires dedication, requires strategy, requires acuity, requires knowledge of the world around it, which surrounds it. The way he plays it, the way he acts, the way he treats cinema, it’s like a game, a sport he loves. Being in a sport, he also practices an art, where he can be whoever he wants in sport. He can be Virat Kohli, like he plays in Samrat Prithviraj, he can be Hardik Pandya, he can be Dhoni the strategist, or he can be someone else. He can be whoever he wants in all of this. But for him, all this cinema, in my head, he sees it as a sport, and a sport he likes; and that’s what I really like about him. Each film is like a new game for him. Of course, consistency is a key characteristic to staying in a sport for a long time, and that of course he did. He doesn’t just rely on his talent. He works there. He’s one of the most lateral minds I’ve seen in movies. One of the main characteristics of the sport is consistency and Akshay demonstrates this. Of course, you have your rest days, but that doesn’t prevent you from exercising with equal intensity each time. This is what Akshay does. He is for me perhaps the only legendary Bollywood sportsman of a very different kind.

Subhash Kapoor, who worked with Akshay in Jolly LLB2, said, “You know, there is a lot of talk about Akshay Paaji’s discipline in general in life, which I think is superb. But only those who have worked with him know his commitment, involvement and dedication when working on a project. Having worked with him in the past, I saw him very closely. In my opinion, it is this legacy that he leaves behind; this inspiring legacy, for hundreds and hundreds of people. Those who want to come and do acting. They can learn a lot from this heritage, from the commitment he shows in every project he does. I wish Akshay Paaji all the best for another 30 years. Keep rocking Akshay Paaji.

Samrat Prithviraj was directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who is best known for directing the television epic Chanakya and the critically acclaimed film Pinjar. The ethereal gorgeous Manushi Chhillar plays the role of King Prithviraj’s beloved Sanyogita and her launch is definitely one of the most anticipated debut of 2022. The film is set to release on June 3 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
